Academy Background

The 2008 Florida State Victim Assistance Academy is a collaborative program of the Office of the State Attorney, 15th Judicial Circuit, the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, the Florida Network of Victim Witness Services and the University of Central Florida. These organizations have worked to develop an intensive, interactive, academic-based curriculum on diverse and high-interest topics related to the professional development of victim services providers. State and national professionals will serve as faculty along with experienced practitioners to provide a unique blend of academic and real-world application.

Representatives from victim services agencies and organizations throughout the state serve as members of the Steering Committee for the FSVAA. The 2008 FSVAA will be held at the Marriott Resort in Delray Beach, Florida beginning Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1.

Participation in the first FSVAA is an exciting opportunity for advocates and other service providers, including managers, administrators and supervisors.

More details about faculty, topics and activities will be added to the website as they become available.
